Every Museum a Civic Museum, LLC, helps museums and other educational or cultural organizations identify and activate their civic roles in ways that are authentic and mission-aligned. As we approach the country's 250th anniversary in 2026 and prepare for the 2024 presidential election, how will your museum prepare?
Services
Civic, Educational and Interpretive Strategy
I work with you to identify your goals and make a plan to enact them, when it comes to the stories you tell, the programs you offer, the exhibitions you create, and the educational initiatives you bring to life. I facilitate planning with a strong emphasis on listening and structure to make space for your mission, ambition, and capacity to shine.
Professional Development Workshops
I provide webinars or in-person workshops for staff and professional networks that want to strengthen their understanding and integration of science-backed playful learning; civic learning and engagement; teaching or interpreting whole, honest history, and developing programs for teachers, young people, and general audiences.
Program and Resource Development
I create or support creation of museum education programs and resources. As a former secondary history teacher with more than a decade of experience developing award-winning museum education programs for students and classroom teachers, I work with small museums that want to make their stories and collections into resources that classroom teachers will use and programs that they will crave.
Civic Fundraising and Communications
I support you in creating a fundraising plan, which may include creating a case for support, grant prospecting, generating testimonials, developing donor communications templates and calendars, and identifying membership tiers and benefits.
Thought Partnership
I offer a retainer model to make myself available for conversations, brainstorms, and gut checks on your schedule. This model gives you access to my wide-ranging reading across change management, leadership, pedagogy and learning science, history, and civic thinking. Additionally, it allows you to activate my vast network of contacts and resources as you consider partnerships, hiring, etc. Also, my humor!
